Staying Busy

I have been staying extremely busy with work, school, and life in general. I wanted to make another quick post and let everyone know that I WILL become much more active on this blog as soon as this semester is over in a few months.

The best way to keep track of what is going on with me and gold making in wow is to follow me on twitter!

Auto/AFK Prospect, Mill, or Disenchant on a Mac

If you are fortunate enough (chuckle, chuckle) to be playing on a mac, then this simply script will make it much easier to prospect, mill, or disenchant.

Step 1: Open Apple Script Editor by typing "Script Editor" in spotlight.

Step 2: Paste the following:

repeat 1000000 times
tell application "System Events"
tell application "World of Warcraft-64" to activate
key code 20
end tell
delay 1.5

end repeat

Feel free to set the delay to whatever you wish. A delay of 1.5 seconds seems to work well for me.

The key code of "20" is equivalent of hitting the number "3" key on the keyboard. I simply have the TSM destroy macro bound to the 3 key on action bar number two.

To find a different key code:  Scroll to about 3/4 of the page or simply use the command+f feature and search the page for "key codes".

Step 3: Make coffee, eat some cake, read a book, or whatever else you would like to do as you new script auto prospects your ore.

Disclaimer: The ToS and EULA is vague when it comes to these kinds of things. This may be considered botting. I have been AFK prospecting for well over a year and have never had any issues, but you should be aware that this may be considered "automation of game mechanics."

I'm Not Dead; I'm Surely Alive

Roaring like a lion.

It has been a while since I have made a post. Real Life has been very very busy. I am slap in the middle of selling my house, packing up, and trying to find a new place to live. This has taken up any free time that I may have had. Even my gold making is suffering. I log on about once a day for thirty minutes or so to repost.

Even though I have spent very little time in game, I am still make good gold. Most of my income is from gems. My flipping markets have gone almost completely stale. Living steel buckles, shoulder and leg enchants continue to do well.

Hopefully I will have more time in about a month or so to get back to posting more on a regular basis.

Keep making gold!

Preparing for Patch 5.4 Roundup Edition

YEEEEHAAAAW!!! Welcome to the preparing for patch 5.4 roundup here at the Gold King Corral!

With just one week until Patch 5.4 goes live I though I would put together a quick roundup from the WoW blogging community to see how everyone is preparing for the patch.

I originally wrote a Preparing for Patch 5.4 post back in June and updated it a few weeks ago. Lets see what others have to say about the patch:

I Should Have Spoken Sooner

I published a post yesterday about Sadness Before Patch 5.4: Competition where one of my main competitors in the gem market had returned.  Later that night, I received the the mail shown below:

This makes me Happy Happy Happy. I wish it would have been next Sunday, but I am not going to complain. If I can get a full week of Patch 5.4 in before he returns I will be happy.

Sadness Before Patch 5.4: Competition

I am a sad Panda... errr Human.  I actually have not created a Panda yet. Anyway, I digress.

I had been making great amounts of gold selling gems (like most gold makers do!).  Myself and two other gold goblins have been whitelisted for about 5-6 months now and our trifecta has essentially controlled the market. We all make gold and we are were all happy. About four months ago a fourth gold maker, who was also heavily in the gem market, left WoW due to the birth of their third child. He sold off his inventory to one of our three amigos saying he was leaving WoW for good. We all rejoiced, sang songs, drank Banana Infused Rum, shot off fireworks, and had a jolly old time. Until.....
